The basic scan cost for digital conversion is $0.85 per photo. This is an "as is" digital conversion with adjustment for brightness, color correction and other basic editing. The goal is to make the digital conversion at least as good as the original when new. (Some originals may not be too good! - Read "Can't be done".) Some color photo's that can not be color corrected are rendered in Gray Scale.
Some photos such as the one shown on the right can benefit from digital editing. The photo shown here, a color correction and slight spot removal, took just a few minutes and did not involve extra cost.
The detailed damage restoration of "Gloria" shown in the "Can't be done" section took about an hour. That kind of repair is not included in the basic flat rate charge. The standard repair charge is $20.00 per hour in 5 minute increments.
There is no additional charge for one archive grade CD/DVD per album. The disk contains the raw file as scanned without correction and the finished .jpg file in low compression. Also included is a very basic PDF format Slide Show presentation on the disk. These are your photos that can be taken to any photo store for printing or used for viewing on a computer screen.
We currently use the on-line photo book service from Kodak. No mark up is added to this service. Cost depends on many factors such as number of photos, layout, number of pages. Kodak prices start at $70.00. for the large format high quality book. Typical delivered cost with additional pages added is usually over $100.00
All photos and album shipping will be at owner's expense. TEDATUM reserves the right to add handling charges for requirements such as packaging materials, pick up and delivery costs. Shipping charges are for returning your original materials as well as cost involved shipping new albums. Estimate is $20.00 or less.
