is the short version of the company name. The business is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Daniel Kautz. (Pronounced "ka-out-s" spoken as a single syllable). Photo editing is as much of an art as it is a science, perfect for a small tightly controlled quality driven business.
As a serious amateur photographer since the late 1960's, Dan built his own "wet" darkroom in about 1969. B&W prints were produced which allowed total control over process and finish quality.
However, 35mm slides and color negative film and prints were left to the quality whims of the color photo processors of the day. A procedure upon which most photographers relied. But all is not lost!
A second vocation "developed" for Dan for "all things electronic". It created the business name, Tippecanoe Electronic Datum. Dan started building personal computers from scratch well before Apple and IBM. When the technology finally grew enough, he discovered the perfect process for saving and refinishing his prized photographs, the digital darkroom!
Dan has been scanning and digitally saving photographs since 1989. It became common for other people to ask Dan to convert their old photos and slides into digital format.
Dan now shoots everything in digital including high quality video. T.E.Datum has all the most current computer hardware and software systems available, primarily using Adobe software suites. Both Apple and PC computer systems are in use. Techniques and software are always current.
T.E.Datum is modern and fully up to date. Over 15 years digital and 35 years photography experience contribute to producing a quality product. |
